Ah, Fitzroy...

Recently, we had a trip out to good old Fitzroy, and, inevitably, found ourselves walking up Brunswick St. Now Brunswick St has always been home to everything retro, "indie", and arty so I wasn't exactly surprised when I saw some really funky street art on nearly every block! At this point in time I had already taken my phone (The only thing I had with me) out of my pocket and started taking pictures of everything I thought was good. I hope these will prove my point that Fitzroy isn't all cafes refugees...
Take note that it was quite bright, so some of the pictures may be a bit faded.

Just a piece of a mural which I took liking to

The more I look at this, the more I like it

Found on the wall of a pub, This piece occurs all over Melbourne

Found on the wall of a cafe, They layer on posters and paint on them, creating a "rough" impression

A piece I spotted, this is opposite cafe Django Django, and the art on the wall is constantly changing

Found on the wall of the Firefighters Union

Found near Fitzroy Pools

Found opposite Fitzroy Pools

Found in an alley way just off Brunswick St

A nice bit of street art on the wall of a Chinese restaurant

Found up the road from us, in Northcote, on the way to Fitzroy
Well, I know it was a lot, but I just wanted to show you all these pictures.
Brunswick St itself is a great place to visit, with shops ranging from retro clothes to funky cafes to expensive bike shops. So if you're ever visiting Melbourne, or you live there but haven't had the chance to see Fitzroy, it is a place for all.
(For the kids there's Melbourne Museum, which is just up the road from Brunswick St, in Carlton Gardens.)
